Assume Nothing

There was a rich and rather autocratic employer who believed in telling people exactly what to do and no questions asked. When he asked a new employee where he worked previously, the answer was, “in a barbershop.” ”All right, you can cut my hair,” commanded the man of quick decision as he sent for comb and sisters.   The new worker had been warned by other employees to do exactly as he was told and to ask no questions. So he cut the man’s hair. When the employer in the mirror and saw a most ill-cut head of hair, he let out a howl of range, turned to the trembling employee and asked him in a loud voice, “Just what did you do in the barbershop?” " I shined shoes,” answered the employee. Make no assumptions.

Shoes

Two men were sent to Africa by a shoe manufacturer to determine if there was a market for their product.  The first came back with a report that said, "No one wears shoes there.  It will be impossible to sell them what we make.  They have no need for shoes." The second returned and stated, "No one wears shoes there.  We are going to make a fortune!" While both businessmen saw the same thing they came back with entirely different  interpretations.  So, it is with us.  People see what they have made up their minds to see.  We see what we have already determined to be so. What this means is that we always have a choice in the way we view life.
