Mothers

"When Tennyson entered the Oxford Theatre to received his honorary degree of D.C.L....a  voice from the gallery was heard crying out to him, 'Did your mother call you early, dear?' " -Sutherland You can run but you cannot hide from your origins.

Jewish Mothers

If the Mona Lisa’s mother had been Jewish, what would she have said to her daughter? After all the money that your father and I spend on braces that’s the biggest smile you can give me? If Columbus’s mother had been Jewish what you would she have said to her son? I don’t care what you discovered. You could’ve written at least once a while! If Michelangelo’s mother has been Jewish what would she have sent to her son? Can’t you paint on walls like all of the children do? Do you have any idea how hard it is going to be to get that stuff off the ceiling?

Boasting About our Kids

Three women started boasting about their children.   “What a birthday I had last year!” exclaimed the first.   “My son, that wonderful boy, threw me a big party at a fancy restaurant.   He even paid for plane tickets for my friends.” “That’s very nice, but listen to this,” said the second.   “Last winter, my son gave me an all-expenses paid cruise to the Greek Islands.   First Class.” “That’s nothing!” interrupted the third.   For five years now my son has been paying a psychiatrist $150 an hour, three times a week.   And the whole time he talks about nothing but me.”   -Current Comedy. The best gift we can pass on to the next generation is wings.
