A Soulful Journey

“Let justice roll down like a river, righteousness like a mighty stream.”   -Amos 5:24 Note the importance of Justice against righteousness.  "Justice," said Rabbi Shimon ben Gamliel, is one of the three necessary pillars of society.  (Avot 18:1)

“The universe is done.   The great masterpiece still undone, still in the process of being created, is history.   For accomplishing His grand design, God needs the help of man.   Life is clay, and righteousness the mold in which God wants history to be shaped.   But human beings, instead of fashioning the clay, deform the shape.”   -Abraham Joshua Heschel

"Let a person fulfill the Torah with joy, and it will be accounted as righteousness. Let a person separate leave-offerings and give tithes in joy, and it will be accounted as righteousness."
