A Soulful Journey

In Macallah Texas, “senior snowbirds” who move south for the winter have organized themselves into “gleaning crews.”   They go to clean up recently harvested fields to pick up missed produce left to rot.   Half what they glean is for other seniors and the other half is donated to the poor.   Hundreds of tons have been gathered and distributed to the needy.

“If there is an old man in the house there is a stumbling block; if there is an old woman there is a treasure.” –adage Knowing the truth can we avoid going that way?  Are we the makers of our own own destiny or are we more like wind driven leaves?  The answer to this question makes all the  difference  in the world.
