Cry

Rabbi Elazar taught, “From the moment that the Beit haMikdash (Temple) was destroyed Heaven’s gates were locked, as it states “Even when I cry out he shut my tears away.”  And “Hear my prayer O God, and listen to my outcry; do not be deaf to my tears.” Psalms, 39,  Baba Metsia 59a Do not hold back.  Weep.  That is your key to unlock Heaven's Gate.

Oh! The Lengths We Go!

"Hurrying to finish my last errand at a card shop, I accidentally locked my keys in the car.  I called my husband at work, but he was out of the office, so I left a message.  After a while, I phoned my mother for a ride and then waited in the store for help.  Impatient, I went outside and tested the driver-side door.  To my surprise, it opened.  Feeling foolish, I quickly locked the door so I wouldn't be found out.  Just then, the store manager walked out and called to me, "Your husband came by and unlocked your door."  - Carol Simons Oh! The lengths we go to protect our fragile sense of self!
