Choices

There is a story about a man who was so upset at reading studies linking smoking with cancer that he stopped reading. Reality is as we choose to perceive it.   We can call good, bad and ugly, beautiful.   The choice is always ours.  Choose wisely.

Women

If a woman is said to be pious, we mean she is not good looking.           - anonymous   It is much the same as the old phrase, "She has a great personality." Since when are women not judged on their merits?   Answer: For too long.

Words

"Do not cast us away into old age." Nobody wants to get old. Rabbi Sidney Greenberg made a comment on this verse that when a person visits a friend in the hospital they may remark, "Boy, has she aged!" Even though the patient may look bedraggled Greenberg warns us to to slot people into the old age category based on how we look.  Such thinking brings us lower than we already feel. Our words have a dramatic effect.
