Put in the Work

"Never measure the height of of a mountain until you have reached the top.  Then you will see how low it was."  - Dag Hammarskjold Do not be intimidated by what you have not tried.  You have more in you than you know.

Be there

The Lord said to Moses: Ascend to Me on the mountain, and be there  (Exodus 24:12): Why the double command that appears to be redundant, both to  ascend , and to  be  on the mountaintop? The Kotzker taught that "one who ascends to the top stands on the mountain, although that climber's head might be in another place. The essential thing is not the ascent, but to be there, and only there." - Kotzker Rebbe Be there.  Wherever you are.

Who May Ascend the Mountain?

Rabbi Yehiel Mikhal said: “It is written: ‘Who shall ascend onto the mountain of the Lord?   And who shall stand in His holy place?’   For the sake of comparison, let us take a man who rides up a mountain in his carriage, and when he is half-way up, the horses are tired and he must stop and give them a rest.   Now, whoever has no sense at this point, will roll down.   But he who has sense will take a stone and put it under the wheel while the carriage is standing.   Then he will be able to reach the top.   The man who does not fall, when he is forced to interrupt his service, but knows how to pause, he will get to the top of the mountain of the Lord.”   - Buber, Early Masters
