Do More

A story is told of a student in Poland who studied twenty-two hours every day.  A Rabbi commented that all of Jewish life depend on this one person.
“How?” his disciple asked.
“Well,” answered the Rabbi, “the student studied 22 hours each day.  The Rabbi sees this and he then studies 11 hours a day.  The Cantor sees what the Rabbi is doing and studies 5 hours a day.  The Shamash sees the Cantor and studies 2 hours a day.  The President sees this and he studies 1 hour a day….and you know, the Jews in Paris, who attend synagogue only 3 times a year …it is only because of this student in Poland.”  -Bernard Mandlebaum
