The Talmud records that when Bar Kappara reported that the
Angels triumphed, that the Holy
Ark captured, the rabbis responded, “Do you mean to say that Rabbi Judah has
died?”
”You have said it, not I,” he answered.
For Bar Kappara, his master Rabbi Judah did not die. He remained alive through his eyes.
May be the same can be said for all those who have passed
before us. When they have left a great
imprint on our lives they remain ever alive in our thoughts and behavior.
