"He used to say, at 5 years the age is reached for the study
of the Scripture; at 10 for the study of Mishna; at 13 for the fulfillment of
the commandments; at 15 for the study of Talmud; at 18 for marriage; at 20 for
seeking a livelihood; at 30 for entering into one’s full strength; at 40 for
understanding; at 50 for counsel; at 60 a man attains old age; at 70 the hoary
head; at 80 the gift of special strength; at 90 he bends beneath the weight of
years; at 100 he is as if he were already dead and had passed away from the
world." - Pirkey Avot 5:20

Its couriers clad in blue and silver uniforms, crisscrossed the continent carrying messages between princes and generals, merchants and money lenders.” –Alvin Toffler, The Third Wave We may think we are the first generation consumed by rapid communication but we are not. Throughout our history it has been a priority. Of course, now in the 21 st century we must ask: are we better or worse for it?
