The word “philanthropy” comes from two Greek roots:
Philia, meaning to love
Anthropos, meaning man.
In Hebrew we use tzedaka, which means justice to describe our
obligation to our fellow.

Throughout our history it has been a priority. Of course, now in the 21 st century we must ask: are we better or worse for it?
